If you're experiencing slow boot time when you upgraded to Solid State Drive or you have the 27" iMac with 2 drives option then you can solve this by doing the following:
go into System Preferences » Startup Disk and select your new solid-state drive. This will prevent the 30-second timeout before the boot starts.
