How to Jailbreak iPhone/iPod 3.1.2 using Pwnage tool 3.1.4

Here I will show you how to Jailbreak your iPhone or iPod Touch 2nd Gen OS 3.1.2 using Pwnage tool (this tutorial is for Mac only, I will post the windows version later today), also I will

Mac
1) Update to iPhone/iPod 3.1.2

2) After updating, find your iPhone/iPod 3.1.2 IPSW file or download it from here:

Note: It's recommended not to use Safari to download. Safari can’t download .IPSW files properly, I recommend using other browser such as FireFox.

2. Download Pawnage Tool 3.1.4

3) Move the Pwnage Tool app to your "Application Folder"

4) Lunch Pwnage Tool and choice your device from list.

5) Pwnage tool will look for firmware file now.

6) Choice the firmware file by clicking on it and then click the next arrow key.

7) Pwnage Tool will now start making the firmware ".ipsw" file that you will use to recover your iPod/iPhone with (this should take 3~5 mins), NOTE: if you are an iPhone user read step 8

8) If you have a locked iPhone with a contract make the following steps:

a) choose the "Expert mode"

b) choose "Genaral Settings" and hit the next arrow button

c) uncheck "Activate Phone"

d) click the return button (shaped like a reversed refresh key)

e) now choose the "Build" and press next

9) close pwnage tool

9) Put your iPhone/iPod in recovery mode, if you don't know how to do this go to: How to put iPhone/iPod touch in recovery (DFU) mode

10) Restore your iPhone/iPod from the new firmware file
