I want to share my internet connection from my win 7 desktop pc with my macbook pro,a router isn`t an option so does anyone know how I can share my internet connection?(I have a wireless network usb addapter)

I want to share my internet connection from my win 7 desktop pc with my macbook pro wirelessly, I don’t have a router but I have a usb wireless network adapter .I already tried making an ad hoc network and it doesn’t work, It says that airport has a self assigned ip and when I change it to mach my pc`s it still doesn’t work.
Please help me if you know any other ways of sharing internet wirelessly.
